The Prodigy is an upcoming American horror thriller directed by Nicholas McCarthy and starring actress Taylor Schilling. The plot centers around a child, whose disruptive behavior indicates that an evil, possibly supernatural force possessed him, forcing his parents to investigate if there are sinister forces involved.
1. Taylor Schilling as Sarah
Taylor Schilling (born July 27, 1984) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Piper Chapman in Netflix’s original comedy and drama series, Orange Is the New Black (2013-present), for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Series of comedy and two Golden Nominations to the Globe Awards for Best Actress – Musical Television Series or Comedy and Best Actress – Drama Television Series. He made his film debut in the 2007 drama Dark Matter. Schilling also starred in NBC’s short medical drama Mercy (2009-10). His other films include Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011), the romantic drama The Lucky One (2012), the comedy Take Me (2017) and the sci-fi thriller The Titan (2018).
Schilling was born on July 27, 1984 in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Patricia (née Miller), administrator of MIT, and Robert J. Schilling, former prosecutor. He grew up in West Roxbury and Wayland, dividing the time between his divorced parents. A fan of the medical drama of NBC ER during her youth, she began acting at a young age. She became active in the theater program of her high school when she appeared in a theatrical production of Fiddler on the Roof. After graduating from Wayland High School in 2002, Schilling attended the Fordham University campus at Lincoln Center, where he continued to participate in theater productions before obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in 2006. He then entered the School’s graduate program. Tisch Arts continued his acting studies, but left after his second year to begin auditioning. While trying to act, she kept working as a nanny for a family based in Manhattan.
2. Jackson Robert Scott as Miles
Jackson Robert Scott is best known for his breakthrough role in the 2017 remake of Stephen King’s “It” as the iconic character Georgie. Following his groundbreaking appearance in “It”. Scott went on to land a series regular role in the pilot “Locke and Key” also directed by “It” director Andy Muchietti. The talentedyoung actor has previous credits as a guest star in the hit CBS TV series “Criminal Minds” and AMC’s sci-fi horror “Fear the Walking Dead”. Fans can look out for Jackson starring in a lead role in the upcoming Orion Pictures/MGM Nicholas McCarthy thriller alongside Taylor Schilling. Jackson speaks Mandarin Chinese and enjoys playing soccer, baseball and his Cub Scout troupe.
3. Colm Feore as Arthur Jacobson
Colm Feore OC (/ kɒləm fjɔːr /, born on August 22, 1958), is a Canadian film, television and television actor of American origin. A 13-year veteran at the Stratford Festival, he is best known for his Gemini Award-winning role as Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in the television miniseries Trudeau, as well as in roles such as Detective Martin Ward in Bon Cop, Bad Cop, Lord Marshal Zhylaw. in The Chronicles of Riddick, Pope Julius II in The Borgias, First Gentleman Henry Taylor in 24, General Ted Brockhart in House of Cards, and Declan Gallard in 21 Thunder. He is a winner of Prix Iris and Screen Actors Guild Award and nominated for the Genie Award.
Feore honed his acting skills as a member of the Stratford Festival Performance Company of Canada, the largest classical repertoire theater in North America. He spent 16 seasons in Stratford, where he went from being part of the lead roles, including Romeo, Hamlet, Richard III and Cyrano. He returned in 2006 to star in four productions, including Don Juan in English and French, and as Fagin in Oliver. More recently, in 2009 he played the lead role of Macbeth in the play Macbeth, and the lead role of Cyrano in Cyrano de Bergerac, and Lear in King Lear in 2014, all performed at the Stratford Festival Theater. He also appeared on Broadway as Cassius in the production of Julius Caesar starring Denzel Washington as Brutus. Off Broadway, for Public Theater, was Claudius in a Hamlet production starring Liev Schreiber.
4. Brittany Allen as Margaret St. James
Brittany Allen (born February 5, 1986) is a Canadian actress known for her role as Marissa Chandler in All My Children from 2009 to 2010, for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Actress in 2011. She attended the Etobicoke School of Arts in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SHe attended the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, for his renowned Music Theater – Performance Program.
After some minor roles in television movies, Allen played the role of Marissa Chandler in All My Children from April 21, 2009 until December 21, 2010. For this role, she won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2011 in the category Young actress in a drama series.
He continued appearing in several television series, with recurring roles in the Canadian drama Bomb Girls and in the Western Defiance of American science fiction in the Syfy network. Between 2014 and 2016, he starred in the science fiction horror film Extraterrestrial, the psychological thriller Backgammon and the unconventional zombie movie It Stains Sands Red, where he starred in a lonely woman pursued by a unique and relentless zombie all over the desert. She also acted as executive producer of the film. This was the second time he worked with Canadian director Colin Minihan after Extraterrestrial. In 2015, Allen contributed to the writing of the story of the independent comedy and drama film, Almost Anything. In 2017, Allen starred in the science fiction drama Incontrol. He also had a co-starring role in the horror movie Jigsaw, a sequel to the franchise of the movie Saw. In 2018, she appeared in the USA Network Falling Water series, replacing Brooke Bloom in the role of Sabine for the second season of the series. She has also had a role with her Jigsaw co-star, Hannah Emily Anderson, in the thriller What Keeps You Alive. She is also willing to appear in the horror movie Descendant as Margaret St. James.
In June 2018, Orion Pictures announced that the film would debut in February 2019. The film was originally titled Descendants. The first poster and the last trailer were published along with the Halloween release. released in October 2018 after it was discovered that it caused a test audience to scream so much that the next dialogue was lost.
In the United States and Canada, The Prodigy will be released on February 8, 2019, along with The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Cold Pursuit and What Men Want, and is projected to generate between 5 and 6 million dollars in its first weekend.
